Eye Examination explained
Our eye examinations take 40 minutes
Normally an eye examination takes 20 minutes.
However we give you the care you deserve it, since everyone's eyes are different:
- We will do an in-depth analysis of the health of your eyes to tailor your eye exam.
- We will analyse your full eye health history and ask you some questions about your lifestyle, any current concerns, and your general health.
Brosgill Opticians offer three eye test options:
Standard Eye Test
The Brosgill Opticians standard eye examination takes approximately 40 minutes. In that time your optician will look closely at all aspects of your vision and health.
Comprehensive Eye Test
The Brosgill Opticians comprehensive eye examination includes a full sight test, and an Optomap Retinal Scan.
The Optomap Retinal Scan gives us the most extensive view of your retina that technology permits. This examination helps us to check the health of your retina (the back of the eye) and detect early signs of many conditions which, if left untreated, can affect your sight.
We recommend the comprehensive eye examination for all of our patients. The Optomap Scan is also available to children.
Advanced Eye Test
The Brosgill Opticians advanced eye examination includes a full sight test, an Optomap Retinal Scan and an OCT scan
The OCT machine provides us with detailed 3D scans of two vital parts of the eye; the macular and the optic nerve, aiding the early detection or diagnosis of serious eye conditions, in particular Macular Degeneration and Glaucoma.
We recommend the advanced eye examination for glaucoma sufferers, diabetics, those with a family history of glaucoma or macular degeneration, and anyone found to have changes in the eye following the standard or comprehensive eye examination.
